There are countless studies that tout the benefits of meditation. But in our busy, go-go-go world, quieting your body — let alone your mind — is often pretty challenging. If you’ve tried meditation, only to find yourself stressing about your to-do list or agonizing over an embarrassing thing you said last week, you’re not alone. Learning to meditate in silence takes time. And it’s certainly a practice worth developing, but we have another way you can reap the benefits of meditation without some of the frustrations. Join us for our new monthly event, Kirtan & Mantra Meditation for Peace.
What is Kirtan?
Kirtan is the Sanskrit word that denotes a musical form of narration or shared recitation. Our Kirtan celebrations are basically musical performances, except you get to be a performer yourself! Join in the chanting, dancing, and singing to reap all of the benefits. Or, if you’re more comfortable, you can simply sit and soak it all in.
Some key things you should know about Kirtan are:
- It’s great for people of all ages and all walks of life
- It can help you unlock peace and love
- Kirtan is a living, moving meditation
- It’s a joyous celebration
Another thing you should know is that, together with our partners Spirit Soul and Friends, we’re committed to making our Kirtan gathering fun. There are no rules and you don’t need any experience. Join us to sing, dance, or simply enjoy the friendship.
Our monthly Kirtan events.
This event will be held on the third Saturday of every month at our office (5450 Ralston Street, Suite 101, Ventura). The award-winning Spirit Soul And Friends, a seasoned musical peace troupe who specializes in Kirtan, will be guiding us. Each Kirtan gathering will start at 3:30 pm and go until around 5:00 pm. This is a donation-based event and is ideal for all ages, so gather up your kids, friends, and neighbors!
Our next Kirtan & Mantra Meditation for Peace event is Saturday, April 20.
If you’re looking for a way to take a breather in your busy life, recenter yourself, or simply instill some joy into your weekend, join us. Our Kirtan & Mantra Meditation for Peace events are perfect for you wherever you’re at, whether you’re a long-time meditation lover or a frazzled person who can’t remember the last time you tried to still your mind.
