Eating Disorders Treatment & Support Group
Recovering from an eating disorders is a lifelong process. The journey takes time, and each step of the process may raise unexpected questions or challenges. The good news? You don’t have to go through the process alone – nor should you. Recovery from an eating disorder is significantly more successful when approached with a support group.
We know that talking about your eating disorder is often uncomfortable. It’s common to feel embarrassed. So how do overcome your hesitancy to discuss the disorder so that you can get the support you need and deserve? We’ve found that it’s much easy to be open about an eating disorder when you’re surrounded by people who understand what you’re going through – because they’ve been through the same thing.
At Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center, we offer a weekly Eating Disorders Treatment & Support Group. Join us as we build coping skills, offer support, and share successes, experiences, struggles, and advice. We don’t yet have a set day or time, so let us know if you’re interested and we’ll work to find a weekly slot that fits in your schedule.
We ask for a donation of $10 to help us support our efforts to serve our Ventura community with groups like this. This group will be facilitated by a Marriage and Family Therapist Intern and will be supervised by Dr. Sharon Burnett, PhD, LMFT. If you have any questions or would like to join us, we’d love to hear from you via phone (805) 620-8046 or email Info@venturacwc.org or find us online at: www.venturacwc.org.
