If you have a family member or friend who is incarcerated, you probably feel alone. Your sense of loss is deep. It’s challenging to find people who can understand what you’re going through. How do you adjust to this new season of life without your loved one?
We know how lonely it can be to feel like you’ve lost someone to incarceration. You have to go about your normal routine as you live life on the outside. Are you daunted by facing your daily tasks without your loved one? Know that you don’t have to go through this challenging transition alone.
At Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center, we have a group for people with incarcerated loved ones that meets every Monday at 4:00 pm. It’s an opportunity to come together and talk with people who uniquely understand what you’re up against. Our goal is to work together so that when you leave, you have tools that will make you feel empowered to take on life on the outside. It’s an open environment where we can share our experiences – from ongoing struggles to surprising victories – and find like-minded people who understand our circumstance. Whether you currently have an incarcerated friend or family member or are still struggling with the challenges of a past incarceration, we would love for you to join us.
You don’t have to go through this alone! Join us on Monday nights for an opportunity to learn from others with incarcerated loved ones and give yourself the tools you need to overcome feelings of loneliness, frustration, and isolation. The group is facilitated by Amber Shaw MFTI supervised by Dr. Sharon Burnett, PhD, MFT License #16203. Suggested donation fee is $10. Please call or email for any questions. [wpforms id=”444″]
