Life can change in an instant. In the wake of so many devastating wildfires and mudslides, our community knows that now better than ever. And with no-cost therapy, we’re rebuilding our local area to be stronger than ever.
Helping Families Thrive is a new initiative from the Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center and West Valley Counseling Center. We’re here to assist coping with the trauma of the wildfire and debris devastation so that you can build your healthiest, happiest life. And, thanks to a generous grant from United Way of Greater Los Angeles, both counseling centers can offer no-cost therapy to low-income families and individuals who were impacted by the recent fires and the mudslides that followed in their wake.
Being so close to these natural disasters as they threatened our livelihood can have a severe detrimental impact on your mental health. The effects of PTSD can generate feelings of anxiousness, create difficulty concentrating or sleeping, or cause other emotional distress; but there is good news! The trauma from these disasters can become treated.
How we can help.
Through holistic therapy with a mind-body approach, the Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center can help you rise from the ashes. If you want to work through your trauma – or you just want to talk about what you experienced – we’re here. Helping Families Thrive is designed to support the needs of our community at no cost.
