It turns out, Pride Month isn’t really over. One of the area’s most celebrated festivals returns next weekend. Ventura County Pride 2022 is August 20, with fun events the day before and after so you can make the most of the festivities!
How to attend
This ultra-fun Pride festival is at Plaza Park near Downtown Ventura from 11 am to 6 pm next Saturday. You’ll need a ticket to get in. Pre-sale tickets are available now for $10. All the money the event raises goes to the Community Resource Center and Diversity Collective‘s programs and services.
The event always brings together a diverse group of LGBTQIA+ people and their allies for a day of celebration and you can expect the same — but bigger — this year. Get ready for food, entertainment, plenty of booths to shop, and a great time with the thousands of people who attend.
And, of course, the event includes the famous Pride Pageant. You won’t want to miss it!
Other events for Ventura County Pride 2022
While the festival at Plaza Park is the main event, it’s not the only happening during this upcoming Pride Weekend.
At 9 pm on August 19, the fun kicks off with the Pre-Pride Party and Drag Show at (where else?) Paddy’s Bar.
After you spend the day Saturday at Plaza Park, the night continues back at Paddy’s with the After-Pride Party & Drag Show, starting at 9 pm.
And to bring it all home, the festival weekend caps off with a Sunday session of Drag Queen Bingo back at Paddy’s at 4 pm.
Paddy’s usually charges a cover and only takes cash, but they have an ATM you can use.
Who’s ready for a fun weekend celebrating the amazing LGBTQIA+ community we have here in Ventura County? We know we are!
It’s amazing to see how our county rallies to make this event an enjoyable, inclusive, and safe one for everyone involved. But that’s not to say that coming out or living proud is easy. If you ever want to talk to someone, our team at the Ventura Counseling & Wellness Center is here.
