It’s time to celebrate! This year, Ventura County Pride hits its 20th anniversary. For two decades, this local event has brought people together to promote LGBTQ+ rights across Ventura County and creating a fun, safe, family-friendly space for everyone to gather.
This year, to celebrate the occasion and to take the festivities to the next level, Pride has moved to Plaza Park, a larger space right in the heart of downtown Ventura. And it’s this Saturday, August 17th! Here’s everything you need to know about the event.
WHO:
VC Pride is hosted by the Diversity Collective and all proceeds go to the incredible services they provide for our community. They invite people of all ages and walks of life to join in the fun this Saturday!
WHAT:
The 20th year of the Ventura County Pride festival
WHERE:
Plaza Park in Ventura
WHEN:
This Saturday, August 17th, from 11 am to 6 pm (don’t worry, there’s an afterparty at Paddy’s at 9 pm)
WHY:
Attend to be a part of a full day of fun! There will be entertainment on the live stage all day, including Ada Vox from American Idol Season 12, Jason Cozmo as Dolly Parton, PuffHost, and more. There will be over 80 vendors, including delicious food trucks. And the event is completely family-friendly. Kids will love drag queen story hour, making stuff with the Crafting Mermaid, the full playground, face painting, and more.
VC Pride is also bringing back the Youth Lemonade Lounge and senior Lavender Lounge. And you won’t want to miss the 1st Annual Ms. VC Pride Pageant, either! The inaugural event kicks off at 4 pm.
In short, there will be a little something for everyone.

You can get your tickets here or at the gate. Kids 12 and under get in free. Tickets for seniors, military, students, and people with disabilities are $5. General admission tickets are $10.

We love this annual event so, of course, we had to get a booth for ourselves there. Stop by our booth for free water (the weather forecast says it should be 70 and sunny!), snacks, games, and temporary tattoos.
